The project “Self-Governing Associations in Northwestern Russia: Common Things as the Foundation for Res Publica” is led by Professor Risto Alapuro (University of Helsinki). Funding is applied for the years 2004-2007. Sites of the research are Department of Sociology at the University of Helsinki and the European University at St. Petersburg.
The project will study the developments in self-governing associations, linked to the recent Russian reform of municipal self-government.
